When Georgia Hunter was fifteen years old, she discovered that she came from a family of Holocaust survivors. Years later, she embarked on a decade-long journey of intensive research, determined to unearth and record her family’s remarkable story. We Were the Lucky Ones was born of that effort. Released in 2017, the New York Times best-selling novel has been translated in over twenty languages, and was adapted in 2023 by Hulu as a limited series, for which Hunter served as co-executive producer. Hunter's second book, One Good Thing, release is in March of 2025.
