Steve Hartman has won dozens of awards for his journalism, including four Emmy awards, 14 Edward R. Murrow Awards (a record 12 for best writing), and the Alfred I. Dupont Award for his Everybody Has a Story series. The series highlights Hartman’s gift for unearthing the extraordinary, whether from a rural town of 900 or the International Space Station. Hartman launched the series “Kindness 101” in 2020, which partners with Character Counts! to provide teachers with a K-12 curriculum that teaches character, social-emotional and academic skills and shows how ordinary people can make a positive impact through their actions.
